Education And Literacy

EDUCATION & LITERACY

Education and literacy play a crucial role in strengthening tobacco control efforts across Karnataka. Public awareness campaigns, school-based health education programs, and community outreach initiatives have been key to informing citizens—especially youth—about the harmful effects of tobacco use. Educational materials highlighting the risks of smoking, chewing tobacco, and using E-cigarettes are distributed in schools and colleges, while health warnings on packaging and in cinema theaters serve as constant visual reminders. Literacy enables individuals to understand these messages and make informed decisions, supporting the broader goal of building a tobacco-free, health-conscious society through knowledge and empowerment.
